But as the company scaled, the need for resilient and scalable infrastructure led them to reevaluate their approach.


In 2016, serverless was still an emerging concept—particularly for large-scale B2B applications. Although intrigued, Sharath was initially hesitant to adopt a technology that seemed untested in enterprise settings. However, things changed in 2019 when AntStack and Prashanth—India’s first AWS Serverless Hero—offered guidance and expertise. Azuga seized the opportunity to implement serverless in a greenfield project, laying the foundation for deeper transformation.


The result? A shift in mindset across teams, from traditional infrastructure thinking to a cloud-native, serverless-first approach. Despite early challenges—like understanding how to manage and observe serverless systems—Azuga gradually scaled the architecture to other products, including its core offerings. Today, their engineering teams are building and migrating services with serverless at the heart of their strategy, enabling greater agility, scalability, and operational efficiency.
